Andrea Bertazzi and the respect for countryside

This month we present a grapevine and olive farmer who work in North of Italy, owner of Il Roccolo estate at Polpenazze del Garda

Andrea Bertazzi work himself in the family farm that's situated near Garda Lake, on Brescia shore.
He is also President of the Consotium for protection and promoting of extra virgin olive oil DOP "Garda".



Why do you decide to make business in farming?
Because I love it and it is a sort of passion. I was born in a family of farmers. We cultivate vites and olive trees. My family teaches me how to love the land and how to respect it.

Do you feel more a peasant, a farmer or a business men?
I feel more a farmer.

A definition of farming.
Farming is a primary and basic activity for the man.

An adjective for defining the world of farming.
Menial.

A keyword for the future of farming.
Necessary.

A model men.
Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

Someone to… go to the hell.
Nobody!

A book concerning the rural world you’d suggest to read.
I usually read only technical books. I think it should be useful and educational reading books about the history of the farming of the fifties. It is interesting to know how our predecessors used to work, and how farming has been evolved in these years.
