Pantelleria is the largest of Sicily’s satellite island; it is also the most westerly, lying a mere 84 km from the African continent, at the same latitude as Tunisia. Its warm climate, however, is constantly being tempered by ever-present strong winds blowing in from the sea, hence the justification for the islands Arabic name Qawsarah or Bent el Rion, meaning Daughter of the Wind.
The current name is in fact late Greek or Byzantine in origin and may mean “rich land of offerings”.
A unique and powerful over the millennia in which the inhabitants have learned to live, building walls to dry for agriculture, gardens, circular stone to protect citrus and typical development called
"Island", extra virgin olive oil obtained from olives Biancolilla pure is by a Consortium of growers.
Description: The sight is green with golden hues and clear. The nose is clean and fresh fruity fragrance oil, with clean hints of tomato and herbaceous overtones. The palate is soft and enveloping, soothing and harmonious, with notes of bitter and spicy well blended. In closing a bit spicy hints of almond.
Indicated with cold couscous with lemon and zensero with zucchini and corn, creamed vegetables, white meat grilled.
