DOC ALENTEJO - Alente Rosè
Grapes: Castelão and Aragonez
Castelão is very popular in most of the Alentejo. This variety is also known as Periquita. Bunches are very small and their grapes are also small with a black-bluish colour and an uncoloured pulp.
Aragonez is a traditional variety from the Alentejo, where it has been used to improve the vineyards. It’s also known as Tempranillo in Spain and Tinta Roriz in other Portuguese regions. Presents medium-sized bunches with small black-bluish grapes.

The winemaking process started with rigorous selection of the grapes from the two grape varieties. The grapes were totally destemmed and undergo skin maceration until the time comes to decide on the colour. After pressing, fermentation took place in stainless steel vats with a controlled temperature of 14-15ºC. The wine was centrifuged and cold stabilised before being filtered
and bottled.
