The best of Sicily: Felice Modica's Insolia

For centuries, this family has cultivated this land with passion and competence, taking care of the vines, the olive groves, the citrus gardens, almonds and carob trees

by Graziano Alderighi

The Bufalefi Estate, a family estate belonging to the Modica di San Giovanni, is located in the South-East of Sicily - the centre of production for both the D.O.C. wine "Eloro" and the D.O.P. olive oil "Monti Iblei". It is in this corner of the islan with strong European cultural roots, where Europe borders Africa, that the wonderful Bufalefi wines and olive oils are produced.

The Felice Modica di San Giovanni estate streches for 300 hectares in Bufalefi, in the Noto area.

Achieving the best possible consistency in high quality while respecting tradition and the environment is the Bufalefi estate's challenge.
