Oils and Fats, more than a healthy interest

by S. C.

There’s more than a healthy interest in the World Congress on Oils and Fats & 28th ISF Congress coming to Sydney this September.

Congress organisers have received abstracts across 10 topics for presentation to what will be an impressive gathering of the world’s oils and fats related scientific community.

Nutritional benefits will be a key topic for the Congress, with keynote speakers and presenters discussing the role of oils and fats in improving health and preventing diseases such as obesity and diabetes.

Issues relating to biotechnology and biodiesel also feature on the Congress program.

Dr Rodney Mailer, Chair of the World Congress on Oils and Fats & 28th ISF Congress said the Congress will provide a forum for exploring new developments and cutting edge research in oils and fats. Additionally there will be some industry specific short courses of critical importance to science and the oil industry.

“The Congress represents a truly international gathering of the world’s leading researchers and academics in the field of oils and fats.

“In addition to the focus on broader health and nutrition issues, a number of sessions at the Congress will specifically focus on olive and canola oils and their value in the health and nutrition debate,” Dr Mailer said.

Dr Mailer said discounted earlybird registration was now available and represented substantial savings.

“Delegates should register as soon as possible to take advantage of the earlybird offer which applies until 29 June and saves nearly 20% on the regular registration fee.

“The Congress runs from 27- 30 September, and with a range of optional social and cultural activities available for delegates and their guests, there has never been a better time to visit Sydney,” Dr Mailer said.
