In this book Rudolf Steiner introduces the reader to a very original vision of agriculture which he formulated during a series of conferences he held in the June of 1924
There are some books which should be read for the sake of it. Many people nowadays speak about biodynamic agriculture but it is generally ignored that this approach derives from strong contents and values and does not only regards a cultivation technique, one like many others, even if deeply different in the spirit. There is something more complex that arises from motivations that go beyond the simple cultivating.
The book we suggest at this purpose is Impulsi scientifico-spirituali per il progresso dell’agricoltura (Scientific and spiritual impulses for the progress of agriculture) by Rudopf Steiner. The author introduces the reader in the heart of knowledge, showing how the spirit of men naturally goes to meet the spirit of the universe. Hence a very original conception of agriculture, that he formulated during a series of conferences he held in the June of 1924.
For example, the book says that mineral fertilizers are responsible for a progressive degeneration of the land and for a great worsening in the food quality. For the readers which don’t know this vision of the rural word, the book will be a source of many surprises. In general, let’s consider a basic principle that should be kept in mind: a healthy farm should be able to produce itself all the necessary for its working.
