Tonda Iblea Agrestis: the flavours of Sicily

Two youngs decided to devote themself to the care of the many olive trees present in Buccheri and now the elderly owners were leaving

The cooperative Agrestis operates in a small village in the Syracuse, Buccheri, to 500/600 meters above sea level, in an area where the olive tree is a centuries-old culture.

It was born in 2003, the idea of two young Giuseppe and Lorenzo to enhance the local products are: extra virgin olive oil.
They decided to devote themself to the care of the many olive trees present in Buccheri and now the elderly owners were leaving.

Specialists in the management of agricultural land, buy some 8 hectares of olive groves, some of which converted to organic olive trees while others are on lease.

Tasting: Golden yellow with green reflections, clear. The nose was fruity bouquet of medium intensity, herbaceous, with hints of tomato and apple. The palate is soft and comfortable, well-balanced bitter and spicy notes. Vegetable flavor, is tasty, and closing the return of the tomato and hints of white fruit.

Matches: risotto with cockles and anchovies, orange salad, saddle of rabbit in Mediterranean sauce.
