U.S. postal service to commemorate tractors on the square announced today that the U.S. Postal Service has granted a Commemorative Pictorial Postmark in recognition of the September 29 Tractors on the Square event in West Plains, Missouri. The special hand-cancelled postmark will be available exclusively at the U.S. Post Office in West Plains, Missouri from September 29 through October 29, 2012.

Members of the public and visitors are invited to the West Plains, Missouri U.S. Post Office on Saturday, September 29 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to receive the official USPS hand-cancelled postmark via hand-back service — Individuals may bring their own envelopes/postcards with sufficient First-Class Mail® postage affixed, or they may purchase envelopes, to which they can affix first-class postage.

Details for obtaining the Commemorative Postmark:
The special postmark is available September 29 through October 29, 2012, exclusively at the U.S. Post Office, 201 Garfield Ave, West Plains, Missouri 65775-9998. Most items (plain cards, blank envelopes, postcards, etc.) may receive the postmark, providing they have the appropriate uncancelled first-class postage affixed (45-cent postage for first-class, 32-cent postage for postcards).

For those who are unable to attend on September 29, the U.S. Postal Service provides mail-back service. Items may be mailed to the West Plains, Missouri Post Office to receive the hand-cancelled postmark. The appropriate first-class postage must be affixed on each item to receive the postmark. Include a stamped (with U.S. postage) self-addressed envelope for return of the cancelled item(s).

If you are outside the United States and wish to obtain the cancellation, all items to be cancelled must include both the appropriate first-class postage rate for your country and the appropriate first-class U.S. postage (45-cent U.S. stamp for envelope or other material; 32-cent U.S. stamp for postcards. Include a stamped (with U.S. postage), self-addressed envelope for the return of the cancelled item(s).
