Chelsea’s world class alternative floral art show is back with a bloom for 2012

Chelsea retailers will again compete to create the most imaginative and creative display formed with fresh flowers and plants.

Chelsea comes alive for 5 days (21st – 26th of May) with an array of colour, fun and excitement attracting visitors from across the globe. Chelsea in Bloom is a gateway to the Flower Show and the ideal way to enjoy Sloane Square, Sloane Street, and Duke of York Square and the surrounding environs while strolling past the show-stopping floral installations and enjoying the world class shops and restaurants.

This year, store windows will be inspired by The Diamond Jubilee and English eccentricity. With previous winners creating life-size tree installations, enchanting forest-scapes and 2 storey-high structures, this year the calibre of the competition is set to be better than ever!

Sloane Square is will be transformed in grassed Pop up Picnic Park. Make yourself comfortable on one of the benches and enjoy an array of musical entertainment provided by one London’s top buskers, and leave your own personal stamp on the Poliform Maxi Bug installation outside the Saatchi Gallery in Duke of York Square.

Official RHS Judges will put the retailers through their paces and will judge the participants on creativity, flair, use of fresh flowers and their take on the traditional theme. For the first time, the awards ceremony will be hosted in partnership with Pommery champagne on 22nd May at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

FREE Rickshaw tours will be available from the Chelsea in Bloom information point on Duke of York Square; ensuring that visitors don’t miss any destination on the list and have fun time zipping around the area. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favourite Peoples Choice Award for the most popular and eye-catching display by visiting www.chelseainbloom.co.uk
