This is a clumsy attempt to disgrace our products abroad. " The overwhelming fantasy of the agro-pirates was on the verge of hitting one of the most important parts of the national wine industry: the Prosecco. Playing on name assonance and on the colours of the labels to deceit the consumers 14,400 bottles of Rosecco were, in fact, ready to be shipped to the UK".

Thus the Minister of agricultural food and forestry policies Luca Zaia comments the operation carried out by the Icqrf of Conegliano that proceeded to seize 14.400 of wine bottles called "Rosecco - sparkling wine Brut - Rosé" , produced and bottled by a Treviso company and destined to the English market.

"This, the Minister concluded, is a clumsy attempt to disgrace our products abroad. In fact the bottles were leaving for Great Britain and on the labels you could clearly read "Rosecco" , that clearly is a reference to the designation of origin Prosecco".
