“After almost 6 years of the implementation of the Norm, that prohibits restaurants from giving to clients oil in anonym ampoules, there are still many irregularities and many restaurants still use direct canals for the oil supply.
This declared the Minister of agriculture Saverio Romano, commenting the results of the controls on olive oils presented in restaurants, carried out by Icqrf during the last two months.
During summer through the whole Italy the Icqrf verified the oil, used for food cooking and the one put at the clients’ disposal in the restaurants. The controls aimed at verifying the supplying canals, the product correspondence to the declared product quality and that the oil was offered to clients having a regular label.
“The Inspectorate, Romano added, with this action managed to unite the needs of protecting the national agricultural product and the consumers’ and tourists’ safety. After all, our country is the first European country for food tourism.”
