Wine, from California to study the 'Italian method'

The Undersecretary for Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies Roberto Rosso and the Undersecretary for education, universities and scientific research Giuseppe Pizza, the 6th October at 14.30 received a delegation of Senators from the State of California. The delegation is in Italy to know more about the Italian ‘wine model’ by meeting with some of the key players of the sector. In fact at the meeting, which was held at the Sala Cavour of the Mipaaf will also take part some of the biggest Italian wine-growers and representatives of trade associations. Focus of the meeting was some of the key aspects of the wine industry: the regulatory framework for the cultivation of vineyards and wine production, sustainable farming techniques as well as analysing the possibility of developing bilateral synergies aimed to the increase relations and cooperation between the two Governments and between manufacturers.

The U.S. delegation is composed of Senator Noreen Evans, Chair of the Californian Wine Commission, Senator Mark DeSaulnier, Chair of the State transportation and housing committee, Nancy Skinner, Chair of the State Rules Committee, Laurie Puzo, Staff Consultant to the Select Committee on California’s wine industry and Guy Condor, Staff Consultant to Darrell Steinberg, California Senate President Pro Tempore.
