Aid to the needy: Italy has resources for more than 100 mln euro

The Minister of Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies, Mario Catania, commentis the approval by the Council of European Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries, of the aid to the ineedy program for 2012-2013, amounting to more than 100 million euros of funds only for Italy. Resources that will be financed through Agea, a system of food distribution by charitable organizations such as Caritas and the Red Cross.

"I express my deep satisfaction for the fact that the Council has approved, finally, the aid to the needy program for 2012-2013. This is a measure able to build a bridge between the world of agriculture and the ione of the poor, those who unfortunately belong to the world of non-consumption. At a time of crisis like the current one this bridge is even more precious. "
