Growing commercial interest in extra virgin olive oil all over the world sees SOL, the international exhibition of quality extra virgin olive oil scheduled next 2-6 April, celebrate its 15th edition and respond by strengthening its synergy with Agrifood Club and a major increase in exhibition area for the two events - now more than 11% compared to 2008.
The event dedicated to business, organised alongside Agrifood Club as well as Vinitaly and Enolitech, thereby meets the needs of operators and traders from all over the world as regards presentations of the best olive oils: the Verona showcase in fact ensures maximum qualitative expression on an international scale. The expansion of the trade offering achieved with Agrifood strengthens the image of Made in Italy and improves contact opportunities for international buyers interested in the excellence of Italian foods.
Hall C dedicated to SOL and Agrifood Club (San Zeno gate) this year comprises 10,500 square metres gross (+1,200 compared to 2008) - and welcomes group attendances by the most important Italian olive oil production regions, as well as increases among individual producers. Several international delegations will also take part - clearly demonstrating the appeal among sector operators ensured by the promotional-commercial showcase offered by SOL.
The commercial aspects of the event are further highlighted by the expansion of the SOL Buyers Club, through wide-ranging action to promote matching between companies and international traders (delegations of operators have already been arranged from Russia, United States, Japan, China, India and Mediterranean countries) and tastings of olive oils winning Sol d’Oro Awards
Sol d’Oro is the most important international olive oil competition held 16-21 March 2009 and ensures even more prestige for the offering at SOL. Visiting operators will certainly enjoy Sol Goloso, the restaurant coordinated by the 5 T Quality Academy (Territory, Tradition, Typicality, Transparency, Traceability) and Designer Restaurants, where dishes prepared by top chefs during the extra virgin olive oil workshops can be savoured. The afternoon sees tastings of desserts made with extra virgin olive oil by the pastry cooks of the Italian Academy of Master Pastry Chefs.
The impressive programme of conventions focuses on top quality and denomination of protected origin products. Unaprol, in collaboration with VeronaFiere, is organising a convention titled “The new Italian olive oil value chain ” to promote100% Italian extra virgin olive oil with compulsory origin information, while Fedagri-Confcooperative analyses “Extra Virgin olive oils in Large-Scale Distribution: positioning, critical aspects and future strategies for Italian cooperation”.
