Cibus 2012: four days, full of events

In the institutional area, realized in collaboration with Aicig and located in the 6th pavilion, will be presented the institutional communication activities

Four days, full of events with the Italian Association of geographic indication consortia and the Ministry of agricultural food and forestry policies. All these meeting take place at Cibus 2012 in the meetings space of the Ministry, installed in the 6th pavilion, B058 stand of the Parma Fiera, where from the 7th to the 10th of May all the main Italian Pdo and Pgi products will be showcased.
The Minister of agricultural food and forestry policies Mario Catania will inaugurate the event at the meeting space on the 7th of May at 13.15pm. The Ministry will be present at the stand with a space dedicated to the institutional and operative bodies that agreed to participate to the event. In particular, there will be the Commando Carabinieri Politiche agricole e alimentari, the State forestry Corps, Icqrf, Agea, Cra, Inea, Isa and Ismea. Besides, there will be Bmti S.c.p.a that will present the functioning of the Italian telematic commodity exchange and illustrate the insurance and financial services offered to the sector operators.
The President of the Aicig, Giuseppe Liberatore declared: “After the successful experience of 2010, we are very happy to have the opportunity to continue our collaboration with the Ministry of agricultural food and forestry policies. Other important protagonists of the sector have accepted our invitation and will be present with us at Cibus. In this difficult period, in fact, it seems to us that the constructive synergy between institutions and operators is an essential factor in supporting the Italian agri- food sector’s competitivity and enable us to offer to the international market a full, homogeneous and strong image of the world of our Pdo and Pgi productions.”
The events: the 8th of May will begin with the meeting, organised by the Consortium of Aceto balsamico tradizionale di Reggio Emilia Pdo on the “Actions and strategies for the protection of denomination” and with the press conference on the “Wines of the world”, while in the afternoon the focus is on the “Pdo Oils – All are authentic. Each one is special” with four expressions of excellence of the Italian oil production, Chianti Classico, Garda, Riviera Ligure andVal di Mazara, that during the tasting that will follow will be accompanied by the Almatura Pdo bread. The events we be concluded by the presentation of a new agri-food portal realized by Ansa.
The 9th of May will begin with the press conference “Graduated gastronomists, new professional figures for the Italian food improvement” aimed at presenting the profile, completed thanks to the course of the Gastronomic Sciences of the Parma University. In the afternoon, there will be an Aicig press conference on “Pdo and Pgi – the value of the protected origin”. At the end of the day there will be tasting reserved to a Cinese delegation: oil Chianti Classico Pdo, Garda Pdo, Riviera ligure Pdo, Sabina Pdo, Val di Mazara Pdo, Prosciutto di Parma Pdo, Parmigiano reggiano Pdo and olive La Bella della Daunia Pdo.
‘Esercizi di gusto’ will be a fixed appointment in all the four days: tastings for students, Neapolitan pizza Stg, lunches for hosts and buyers, Italian ‘aperitivo’ with Prosecco Doc and Pdo and Pgi products.
